According to CNet, election experts at a National Institute of Standards and Technology conference are saying that mailicious code and bugs make e-voting vulnerable. Good thing the feds are only a couple years late to the discussion.

They need to release the code for the computers to make sure someone can’t hack into the machines. Instead, the Information Technology Association of America says that opening up the code will “breed election fraud.” So the choice is between opening up the code and letting people figure out what the bugs or let some idiot hackers try to find holes and exploit them. Yeah, brilliant. This is really an argument over open-source software.

Its great to let elections be decided by software no one else can see or test. Yeah, great idea.
